Hao-Fan Chumg Start of Studies:2011.10.1 Title: Knowledge Sharing in Virtual Organization – towards a comprehensive model Information Technology and Knowledge Management have always fascinated me, because of continuing information revolutions; it could ameliorate individuals’ lifestyles by utilizing IT. Nowadays, most organizations and universities have established information systems such as enterprise resource planning, supply chain management, E-commerce, E-learning and knowledge management systems to enhance their operating efficiency. Besides, employees and students living in secluded areas or commuting from inconvenient locations also dispel the limitations of time and space to study or discuss things through E-learning or video conferencing via the Internet. Another critical issue of what I am concerned with, is knowledge sharing, due to common intelligence capital which has become one of the most critical assets in the world. Increasing members of virtual communities and organizations have turned into a way to exchange and share knowledge via the Internet even though they never actually meet. Notwithstanding, it’s difficult for employees to share knowledge in organizations through virtual communities. In sum, I always think about 1) what factors will facilitate people to accept new IT 2) what factors will improve people to have the willingness of knowledge sharing and 3) what factors will be useful to reduce digital divides. Besides my research period in school, I also had other precious work experiences. I had a chance to be invited to teach courses in several universities, including programming, operating systems, databases, E-commerce, knowledge management, structural equation moldering, research methods and so on. In this job, the experience is significant for me to face more than sixty students in one course and to teach, which develops my capability on course organization, problem solving and speaking in front of crowds. In addition, I also had the experience of writing several books about database during the period. Besides indepth research and relevant work experience, I am full of cordiality in volunteer work when I have leisure time. One of my precious volunteer experiences is to teach students how to use a computer and to generate interest in study in the most secluded mountain areas of Taiwan - all students’ are aged from 10 to 80 years old. When I am engaged in volunteer term, the deep impact for me is to experience the diversiform and different lifestyles.
