Title: The retrieval of a user's mood and/or activity for use in information systems and interface design
My project is to investigate how we can track emotional and physical traits in a user using next generation technologies and how this data can be used to best assist that user in using both physical devices as well as information systems.
I intend in this project to use a wide range of methods that contain a mix of both commonly used as well as innovative ideas all with the goal to understand how emotion is displayed by a user. Some of the techniques that I am investigating are not limited to brain mapping, eye scanning, physical movement and social networking.
Currently, usability and usage has a one-to-one relationship with the users who are using a device. Each user is categorised depending on their ability. However, by investigating how emotions are represented, I intend to use this information to challenge the existing model to introduce personal state, marking a significant change in how interfaces and information systems are designed.
By catgeorising emotions and using high level profile techniques, my mission is to investigate how builders of information systems and interfaces can use a personal state to best improve the user experience.
