Career
-
2007 – present: Lecturer in Physical Geography, Loughborough University, UK.
-
2004 – 2007: Research Associate in Physical Geography, Durham University, UK.
-
2001 – 2005: Ph.D in Physical Geography, University of Leeds, UK.
-
1999 – 2001: M.Sc. in Geographical Information Science, Wageningen University & Research Centre, The Netherlands.
Research Interests
My primary research interest is the development and applications of hydraulic and hydrological models for better understanding of the dynamics of the Earth's surface. This includes:
-
numerical modelling of flood inundation, flood risk management and assessment;
-
interaction between climate change, land-use change, sea-level rise, sediment delivery and flood risks;
-
environmental applications of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing.
-
3D modelling of the dynamics of channel bifurcations in gravel-bed rivers; and
-
issues at the interface between flow hydraulics and river-floodplain ecology;
