Systems, Risk and Reliability
Based within the Department of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering, The Systems, Risk and Reliability Group is part of the University strategic development of systems engineering. The vision over the next 5 years is to develop the group into a world leading centre of excellence in systems, risk and reliability engineering. An autonomous systems laboratory is currently being developed. The lab will contain fleets of helicopters and ground vehicles enabling the development of robust control systems for autonomous vehicles.
The primary research areas of the group are:
- System Safety, Reliability, Availability and Maintainability Analysis Methods
- Decision making in uncertain and dynamic environment
- System Safety, Reliability, Availability and Maintainability Model Generation Methods
- Integration for complex systems
- Maintenance Planning
- Engineering for enduring capability
- Fault Diagnostics
- Autonomous Systems
- System Optimisation for design and maintenance
- Multi-disciplinary teams, projects, and experimentation
