Wireless Network
Introduction
Loughborough University's wireless network is available to staff, students, academic visitors to the campus and to some conference delegates.
IT Services' managed Windows staff laptops will already be configured to connect.
Students and other users should join the setup-wifi network and then open a web browser; this will display a page showing you how to configure your device.
Conference delegates should connect to the imago network.
Loughborough University is part of the JANET Roaming service - which means that members of the University (staff and students) can use the eduroam service at thousands of Educational Institutions around the world. We provide the eduroam wireless network for our own users and academic visitors to the University. Instructions for Staff Desktop XP users. Mobile Phones
Most smartphones are capable of joining eduroam. iOS based devices e.g. iphones, ipods, ipads etc, and Android devices should try setup-wifi and open a browser and follow the instructions. For other devices you will need to visit your smartphone provider's support website for exact instructions on how to configure wireless networking. You will need to look for instructions for configuring your device for an EAP-PEAP (sometimes called 802.1X) protected network. You will need to use the information on our technical details web page together with instructions from your manufacturer.
