Mailroom Services provides a collection and delivery service for University departments for external and internal mail.
You can buy stamps from us and send personal mail worldwide including large parcels (up to 30kg).
Please note that we are not a Post Office Counter and therefore cannot pay bills, tax vehicles etc. Also, once your mail has been collected for dispatch, you must contact the carrier direct to track its progress.
We are open 08.45am - 12.30pm & 1.15pm - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

All carriers collect by 4pm each weekday. Please ensure your mail is with us in good time.

We are a collection point for the following mail services:

Where can I track my mail?
All the following carriers have a tracking facility on their website. You will need your mail item's reference number in order to track its progress.
Who do I contact if I have a problem with my mail?
Please contact the customer services department of the carrier who collected your mail. Remember to quote your mail item’s reference number. Please note that your as contract is with the carrier, Mailroom Services can neither track nor look into problems with your sent mail.

We are open 08.45am - 12.30pm, 1.15pm - 5.00pm Monday to Friday
What is the deadline for mail collection?
All carriers collect by 4pm each weekday. Please ensure your mail is suitably packaged and with us in good time.
Can I pay bills, tax car, apply for TV licence, passport etc?
No - this is because the Mailroom is not a Post Office Counter. The nearest sub Post Offices are on Ashby Road, and Forest Road and Loughborough’s main post office is at 10 High Street Loughborough.

How do I address my mail?
To ensure your mail is effectively processed and delivered could you please prepare your mail items in the following manner.
External Mail
Please ensure you address your item with the full name,house name/numbers, road/street name, Town/City,County/province and full postcode/zip code in the following manner:

Internal Mail
Please ensure you address your item with full name, Department/School Name and Building Name in the following manner:

Do you collect for same day service?
Yes we can, but please contact the mailroom who can advise you of the best method and carrier.
Can you take heavy items?
We can collect suitably packaged items for worldwide delivery that weigh up to 30kg. Some carriers are able to take items in excess of 30kg, but you would need to contact the carrier direct.
I am expecting a parcel by carrier - how will it reach me?
Mailroom Services only accepts delivery from Royal Mail, DHL and Parcelforce. If you are expecting a delivery from one of these carriers, it will arrive first with us and will be sent out to you with the internal mail delivery. We aim to make this the same day, but if your mail arrives after your last internal delivery of the day, it will be delivered to you the next day.
What if the carrier delivering mail is not Royal Mail, DHL or Parcelforce?
All other carriers will deliver direct to your department or in the case of students - Parcelz on Telford Way in the student village.
How can I arrange a bulk collection for my department?
Simply contact us on ext 222034 with the details. We will deliver crates for your bulk mailing. Call us once your bulk mailing is ready for collection.
