Rights of PatientsYou have the right to see the doctor of your choice within the practice; please inform reception. If you are aged 75 years or over, the practice is obliged to provide an annual GP consultation (or home visit if clinically appropriate) if you request it If you are aged 16 –74, the practice is obliged to provide you with a GP consultation if you have not attended the practice within the last 3 years
Responsibilities of PatientsIf you are unable to keep your appointment or you no longer need it please let us know so that we can offer the appointment to someone else. The Medical Centre is not linked to the University information systems so please notify us of any change of address, phone number or personal circumstances. If you have changed address and have been referred to a hospital, make sure you inform them too or you will miss your appointment. Overseas Students, please inform us of your departure date when you are leaving the country and will not be returning
Violent or abusive patientsThe practice supports the Government’s NHS zero tolerance zone campaign. Violence and abuse is a growing concern. GPs and their staff have the right to care for others without fear of being attacked or abused. Violent patients will be reported to the police and struck off our practice list. We ask that you treat the GPs and practice staff properly—without abuse or violence.
