Module feedback
As from Semester 1 of this academic year (2011/12), the University will be using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to scan completed module feedback forms. OCR technology allows for greater flexibility, increased efficiency of processing and improved tolerance during scannning compared to Optical Mark Reading (OMR).
Module feedback forms will now be printed locally within Schools or, ideally, printed centrally via the Print Unit.
Templates
- Module feedback form (Note: You need OMR Bubble Font installed on your computer for this form to open correctly.)
The template for creating the Projects and Dissertations form will be available here by mid November:
- Projects and Disserations form – previously known as Projects, Placements, Dissertations form
(link inactive whilst testing of this form is completed)
Schools will continue to populate module feedback forms with questions selected from the optional question bank:
- Optional questions (agreed at School/Department level)
- Mandatory questions (already within template)
Please refer to:
- Detailed guidance about the creation, completion and scanning of feedback forms. (link inactive whilst testing of the system is completed)

Programme feedback
Please note that at a meeting in July 2008, Progarmme Quality Team recommended that end-of-progaramme surveys using the centrally produced OMR forms “be discontinued”.
Consequently, there is no equivalent programme feedback form within the new OCR system.
